When I first agreed to be part of The Naughty List of Mr. Scrooge, I couldn’t help but reflect on my lifelong fascination with horror films. Growing up on a steady diet of cult classics like Halloween and A Nightmare on Elm Street, I was drawn to the way these films could simultaneously thrill and terrify an audience. They tap into something primal—our fears, our anxieties—and they make us feel alive.
To me, horror isn’t just about scares; it’s about storytelling at its most raw and emotional.
Director Jake Helgren was so much fun to work with and ingeniously builds suspense in layers, starting with the camaraderie of the characters and slowly peeling it away as trust erodes and fear sets in.
My character, Marty, might not seem like the obvious standout, but playing him was a thrill. Marty becomes an anchor in the chaos—a lens for audiences to experience terror and suspicion firsthand.
Working on The Naughty List of Mr. Scrooge was a solid experience from start to finish. Jake Helgren brought a clear vision to set, and his direction created a tight balance between tension, pacing, and character dynamics. His attention to detail and ability to keep things moving efficiently made the process seamless.
The entire crew was exceptional—focused, creative, and incredibly collaborative. Every department, from costume to camera, brought their A-game and worked seamlessly together to execute some of the film’s most complex sequences. The coordination and teamwork, especially during high-intensity scenes, were impressive and made the whole process smooth and enjoyable.
